How to scope a digital product you will actually finish
5 min read
Short answer
Scope a digital product by naming one buyer, one problem and one outcome, then cutting everything that is not required for that outcome. If it cannot be finished in the time you actually have, it is still too big.
The one-one-one test
One buyer, one problem, one outcome. If your product description needs an 'and' in the outcome, you have two products.
Cut until it hurts slightly
Version one exists to be finished and sold, not to be complete. Everything you cut becomes version two — and version two is much easier to sell to people who already bought version one.
